OUR VISION
Throughout her journey, Jillian Lauren Gorman was the embodiment of strength and encouragement to others and recognized the importance of a parent’s presence and support during difficult times. At The Jillian Fund, we believe that children facing life-threatening illnesses should never face them alone. Each day, thousands of critically ill children face long hospital stays without a parent by their side because the parent is financially unable to leave work.
ABOUT THE JILLIAN FUND
The Jillian Fund was founded in July 2013 by a group of inspired and caring individuals who set forth to fulfill a simple wish: to help families in need. The inspiration comes directly from Jillian, who leading by example, reached out and gave strength and encouragement to young children and teenagers in need. As of November 2020, the fund has raised more than $2 million and helped 187 families.
The main objective of the fund is to provide financial support to families with children who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses and require critical care. There are many financial burdens placed upon families in these situations, including medical bills, travel costs for treatments and time away from work. Our goal is to allow family members the opportunity to be by their child's side and focus on their needs, and our financial support helps to make this possible. We currently work with patients being treated at the Hackensack Meridian Health Network's Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital.
Our objective is simple: provide support during a time of crisis to allow family members to better focus on their sick child.
The Jillian Fund does not accept applications for support; the fund works in partnership with a network of social workers and ensures that the money is given directly to the entity to which it is owed, on behalf of the family. Families can receive up to $4000 in assistance.
The Jillian Fund is a designated 501(c)(3) organization and is eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions.
