LIDIA
Lidia was born in January 2011 and diagnosed in February 2014 with acute lymphocytic leukemia. Her overall treatment protocol is projected to last two years and includes intensive courses of chemotherapy. She was hospitalized for the first eight months of treatment due to the side effects of the treatment. Lidia lives with her mother, mother’s boyfriend and younger sister. Lidia’s mother has not been able to work since the diagnosis due to the demands of treatment, and mother’s boyfriend has limited income, especially during the winter months. As a result, the family has trouble making ends meet. The Jillian Fund provided rental assistance in March 2015 to allow Lidia’s mother to continue providing care and to help the family meet their basic needs.
