JAMIE
In September 2014, at age 18 months, Jamie was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive form of kidney cancer that is also highly resistant to chemotherapy. Jamie received an aggressive chemotherapy protocol and a stem cell transplant in January 2015, after which he remained on ventilated support due to respiratory failure and other complications. Jamie resides with his parents and two brothers. Since his illness, Jamie’s mother has been unable to work, and to make matters worse, Jamie’s father had an accident at work which will leave him unable to work for 6 months. In February 2015 The Jillian Fund assisted Jamie’s family with mortgage assistance to allow Jamie’s parents to be with their son while also balancing their financial and family obligations.
