Holly is 9 years old and resides with her father, mother and 4-year old sister. She was diagnosed in June 2016 with osteogenic sarcoma (bone cancer) and has been wheelchair bound due to the effects of the disease. Her treatment at the Children's Cancer Institute at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center consists of inpatient chemotherapy, limb salvage surgery, and more chemotherapy. She recently had surgery to remove a tumor and is presently admitted at Children’s Specialized Hospital for rehabilitation. Following rehabilitation, Holly will receive more chemotherapy. Holly’s father is the family’s sole source of income and has taken time off from work without pay to be with Holly during treatment. The Jillian Fund’s support has made it possible for Holly’s father to be present and to support her when she needs her parents the most.
