Our Impact

ANDREA

Andrea is a 12-year old girl who lives with her mother, father and 3-year old sister. Andrea was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia in May 2016 and is considered high risk. She was admitted to the Children's Cancer Institute at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center for nearly three months and received several courses of chemotherapy. Andrea was recently readmitted and is in the process of receiving a bone marrow transplant in hopes of curing her disease. Andrea’s mother left her job upon her daughter’s diagnosis and is present at bedside during the day. Her father continues to work during the day and care for Andrea overnight. The Jillian Fund provided financial assistance to make it possible for Andrea’s family to be active participants in her care and support during these difficult times for a 12-year old girl.
