HOW WE HELP
Many families struggle to make ends meet, and every day some of those same families receive the devastating news that their child has a life-threatening illness. The emotional and financial challenges can be difficult to handle alone, especially when a parent needs to stop working in order to care for a critically ill son or daughter.
The Jillian Fund provides financial support—including rent, car payments, insurance, utility bills and childcare expenses—to families of children with life-threatening illnesses receiving treatment at the Hackensack Meridian Health Network's Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital. The Jillian Fund also funds a social worker at the hospital to provide additional support to families facing the unimaginable. Our objective is simple: provide support during a time of crisis to allow family members to better focus on their sick child.
We currently primarily serve Bone Marrow Transplant, Neuro-oncology, and Car-T patients and their families.
The Jillian Fund does not accept applications for support; the fund works in partnership with a network of social workers and ensures that the money is given directly to the entity to which it is owed, on behalf of the family. Eligible families should consult with their social worker. Families can receive up to $4000 in assistance.
