The Mary Help of Christian Academy (MHCA) is a Catholic preparatory school located in Haledon, NJ (see overview below). Jillian Gorman graduated from MHCA in June of 2012 and the school had a profound impact on her both academically and spiritually. To honor her memory and reward deserving students, the Jillian Fund will award scholarships annually to students who meet the stringent criteria.
With the above in mind, June 12, 2014 was a special day for the Jillian Fund. On this date we awarded our first two scholarship to Daisy Paisy and Roesha Andre (pictured below). During a brief ceremony George Gorman, chairman of the Jillian Fund and father of Jillian, presented these excellent students with financial support for the 2014-2015 academic school year. This support rewards the hard work and dedication of Daisy and Roesha and relieves some of the financial burden on their families.
In order to be considered for the scholarship, applicants write an essay sharing their goals in the classroom and contributions to the community. They must also meet the following criteria:
Aspire to Academic Excellence
Exhibit Social Responsibility
Provide Community Service
